Valentine’s Day

I was going to write a post about today, but then I realised that my feelings about today are very much the same as how I felt about it last year, so I might as well just point you to this. I don’t know if I will ever change my views on it. I most likely never will even if the unthinkable happens and I do manage to get into a relationship with someone. Anyway, while I happen to not enjoy it, I still hope that you’ve had a nice day whatever your relationship status.

Shmalentines Day.

It’s fair to say I am not a big fan of the 14th of February. It’s not because I am a sour singleton who can’t catch a ball let alone a date (even though there is some truth in that), it’s more because of the sheer commercialisation of it all. You know what I mean; the numerous compilation CDs of soppy love songs that come out just in time for it, the scores of tacky valentine gifts that line the shelves, the countless adverts promoting special offers on flowers, chocolates, champagne and meals for two. Not to mention the constant themed items on TV shows and messages in newspapers from people professing their love for their *insert puke inducing nickname here*.

But what annoys me the most about it, is how it’s made out to be the one day of the year that you have to show you…
