NaBloPoMo Day 10: I hate Mondays

I agree with Garfield on his dislike of Mondays. In recent months, my dislike has intensified. It’s a whole load of factors: the feeling that the weekend has gone so quickly, to the fact that everyone and thing seems to want to bother you on Monday. The phone doesn’t stop ringing, there’s a load of messages left from the people who were in over the weekend and there’s a sense that rather it being the start of a new week, you’re clearing up all the stuff left over from the previous week and not really starting the week at all.

Is it really that bad that at the start of the week I am already wanting it to end?

I do sympathise with you on this one. Apart from speaking to my best friend every Sunday night, I get a sense of what could be called “Songs of Praise” syndrome – that point in the evening when you know that the weekend’s over.

Whilst I can’t take away that feeling for you, feel safe in the knowledge that you’re not alone.

I get that sense when Downton Abbey starts, or any other drama that happens to start around 9pm.

I have a perpetual case of the Monday’s on Monday. F Mondays.
